President Katalin Novák held a meeting with RMDSZ president Kelemen Hunor on Wednesday afternoon in Bucharest, where he is participating in the summit meeting of the Three Seas Initiative.
Katalin Novák, who celebrates her birthday on Wednesday, posted on her social media page, "The protection of the interests of Hungarians is the first in Bucharest as well." The head of state reported that in the Romanian capital he had a meeting with RMDSZ president Kelemen Hunor for the first time.

- said the President of the Republic. Kelemen also reported on the meeting on his social media page. According to the head of the RMDSZ, during the face-to-face meeting, they discussed the Romanian-Hungarian intergovernmental relationship, issues concerning the Hungarian community in Romania, and current politics.
The 12 heads of state participating in the summit of the Three Seas Initiative will discuss economic and security issues during the day on Wednesday. The eighth meeting of the initiative takes place in the Cotroceni palace, home to the state president's office, where the new edition of the HTK business forum will also be held.
According to political sources, important decisions will be made at the Bucharest summit on strengthening and diversifying the initiative's financial instruments, as well as future courses of action for the development of cross-border transport, energy and digitalization infrastructure.
The main objectives of the meeting include the development of the business forum, support for the creation of an innovation fund, support for the creation of a new investment fund and updating the list of strategic priority projects. A decision is also made that the HTK will be expanded to include Greece, and Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova will become associate members. Among the countries of the Three Seas Initiative, Romania is the first to host the summit for the second time. In 2018, President Klaus Iohannis also hosted the meeting in Bucharest. From the investment fund created at that time, five major projects have been supported in several countries, including Romania, with a total value of 6 billion euros. At the eighth meeting of the HTK, all twelve member states - Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and the host Romania - will be represented, as well as Greece, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine as special guests. HTK's strategic partners - representatives of the United States, the European Commission and Germany - were also invited, the overseas delegation is led by the US President's special envoy for climate change, John Kerry.
The president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the vice president of the European Investment Bank, and representatives of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development will also be present at the meeting. As part of the event, a plenary session will be held, a statement will be adopted, and then President Klaus Iohannis will hold a press conference together with his Polish and Lithuanian colleagues and the Croatian Prime Minister. Afterwards, the president invites the heads of the delegations to a working dinner.
