According to 75 percent of Hungarians of voting age, Hungary is a Christian nation based on its culture and traditions, and 86 percent of them - following these traditions - are baptized - according to the latest opinion poll of the Center for Fundamental Rights.

The survey - which was conducted between September 11 and 13, by interviewing 1,000 people by telephone - states:

"as several organizations have pointed out in the past period, in Europe the actions against Christ believers have not only increased, but also become more violent".

"It is no coincidence that the Christian heritage in Western Europe is in a difficult situation, as it was besieged on the one hand by the illegally arriving Islamic masses and on the other hand by left-wing extremists promoting the culture of abolition. In our country, on the other hand, the Basic Law recognizes the nation-preserving role of Christianity, according to which the protection of Hungary's Christian culture is the duty of all organs of the state, just as it ensures education according to Christian values for all children".

In line with this, in Hungary, citizens' attachment to Christian traditions is strong: three-quarters of the respondents (74.9 percent) think that Hungary is a Christian country based on its culture and traditions, and 86.4 percent of the respondents stated that they were baptized.

"All this shows that the already high level of religious conviction can be strengthened even further. Hungary has done a lot to this end in recent years:

it is committed to protecting Europe's borders against Islamic conquest, it helps believers all over the world through the Hungary Helps program, and the Hungarian government, contrary to the Western liberal elites, has undertaken to protect the Christian tradition. In this regard, Pope Francis himself expressed appreciation for our country, highlighting the help provided for persecuted Christians"

- says a poll.
