The first of October is the World Day of the Elderly, and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán greeted them on this occasion, stating that the elderly can count on the government.

"We pay almost half a month's pension supplement to the elderly," the Prime Minister added in his Facebook post.

During his announcement on Thursday, the Prime Minister said that they can preserve the value of pensions by paying pension supplements.

Therefore, in November, the postman will receive, on average, almost half a month's pension more

- the Prime Minister explained the government's decision on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister reminded that they had agreed with the pensioners back in 2010 that the national government would preserve the value of the pensions, and he gave a guarantee that what happened in the Gyurcsány era, when one month's pension was taken away from the pensioners, would not happen again.
