Hungary must always follow its own path, and it must follow the road built by itself - declared Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Saturday at the opening ceremony of the two-lane section of highway 83 connecting the city with Győr in the Pápa border of Veszprém county.

"If we let others tell us when to fight, who to live with, who to trade with, then the storms of the world will destroy Hungary"

- said the Prime Minister, and then added: Hungary must follow its own path and believe that its own path is the right path.

Viktor Orbán emphasized that the government owed two big debts to the city of Pápa: the case of the hospital had already been settled, and now the city, which was supposed to connect the Kisalföld with Bakony, had a new path.

Circumstances are not playing into our hands

The prime minister emphasized that the new road, in addition to economic development and improving the quality of life of the locals, also has national defense significance due to the Papal military airport. He went on to say that while news of war and crisis is coming from other parts of the world, Hungary is building.

In clear weather, on calm water, all boats can be steered well, but today the conditions are not playing into our hands at all, and the waters are not calm at all. We have never experienced such warlike, difficult, horrible times as those that Europe has to endure today, we have entered an age of danger, the sea of peoples has risen, and the waves that have erupted are clearly visible from everywhere, including from here in Hungary

said Viktor Orbán.

The prime minister also added, "if we don't pay attention, the waves can even shake us", so "those who sail in such a storm do not have an easy task, the direction of the ship, the hull, the sails, the ship's crew must be in order, and not it also doesn't hurt if the captain is not half-witted". Where these things are not in order, you will not be able to reach your destination and reach the shore, said the Prime Minister.

Viktor Orbán said

"let us be proud that even in times of bloodshed, our country is on the right track, and not only is it on the right track, but it is also capable of solving decades-old problems despite the difficulties - we could talk about inflation, high interest rates - let's solve it".

The role of the countryside is extremely important

The Prime Minister referred to the development of highway 83 as a debt to the Hungarian countryside, and talked about the fact that the government and the nation expect two things from the Hungarian countryside: on the one hand, that the local communities should be strong, that these areas should develop, because they are their strength. without "we cannot be successful", but also that "the true features of the individual regions do not disappear", they remain as we have come to know and love them.

We also want development and we want to keep what is good; this is not an easy task - noted the Prime Minister, emphasizing

for this, these regions must not fall out of the country's economic circulation.

Viktor Orbán stated that "a good road network also keeps the country on the path to development", and then he mentioned that the Hungarian expressway network is denser than the French, Scandinavian or Irish ones, and is only slightly behind that of Austria.

A country that is able to expand its road network in such difficult times is a country that is capable of great achievements even in difficult times, said Viktor Orbán.
