In Sydney, the President of the Republic commemorated the Hungarian martyrs of 1944 in the Southern Region together with the Southern Hungarian Association.

My goal was to visit the Hungarian communities living in Australia, in addition to strengthening diplomatic and economic relations, wrote Katalin Novák on her Facebook page.

"As the last event of my visit, we commemorated the 1944 Hungarian martyrs in the Southern Region together with the Southern Hungarian Association in Sydney.

Today, Hungarians and Serbs can finally live in peace in Vojvodina. István Pásztor, the recently deceased president of the Vojvodina Hungarian Association, played a major role in this.

It was good to experience the self-evident unity of the Hungarian nation every time I met the Hungarian community."

He served his homeland and community all his life - He was István Pásztor
