According to the prefect, this could contribute to nurturing, preserving and enhancing patriotic, national self-awareness.

Rudolf Stauder (PNL), prefect of Máramaros county, according to the prefecture's information on Thursday, asked the teachers of the county's primary schools to sing the Romanian national anthem with the children in the morning, reports foter.ro .

The prefect justifies his request by saying that with this the schools can contribute to the cultivation, preservation and enhancement of patriotic, national self-awareness. Because how

"every nation defines itself with a series of basic symbols, such as the national flag, the anthem, the coat of arms and the mother tongue", and these are "pillars that determine the history and development of a community"

- writes Rudolf Stauder, Prefect of Máramaros County.

The prefect's instruction reminds the author of the foter.ro article of those dark school mornings before 1989, when in the classrooms with floors smeared with diesel oil, the daily program began with the entire class standing up and humming the Romanian national anthem while hanging it on the wall above the blackboard. Nicolae Ceaușescu, Father of the Nation, Genius of the Carpathians, Beloved Son of the People looked down on the sleepy students with a half-smile promising a bright communist future from a thoroughly retouched picture.

Incidentally, President Klaus Iohannis awarded Rudolf Stauder with the knighthood of the Order of Manhood and Faith a year ago.
