The head of the Slovak government should also have walked out of the room before the decision regarding Ukraine's EU accession negotiations, according to some opinions in Bratislava.
The Slovak National Party (SNS) does not agree with Ukraine's EU accession negotiations and believes that Prime Minister Robert Fico should have behaved at the Brussels summit as Viktor Orbán did, i.e. leave the room before the decision, reports Pravda.
SNS believes that Fico, like Orbán, should have vetoed Ukraine's financial support.
After the EU summit, the Slovak Prime Minister said about the 50 billion euro aid plan that the member states did not agree because there was another opinion, the Hungarian position, which must be respected.
Fico also spoke in Brussels that the start of the accession process for the Ukrainians is just an overrated political gesture.
Balázs Orbán, political director of the Hungarian Prime Minister, also emphasized that there are still at least 75 points that require unanimous decision-making, so the process cannot continue without Hungary's consent.
