A baby girl, Blanka, born 1 minute after midnight in Zalaegerszeg, became the first newborn in the country in 2024, in state institutions, while in Budapest this year a little boy, Donát, became the first newborn of the year.
The 36-year-old mother herself from the Zala Vármegyei Szent Rafael Hospital told MTI by phone that Blanka was born as the second child of the family. The baby girl was born naturally with a weight of 3430 grams and a length of 49 centimeters.
It is interesting that in 2023 the first baby of the year was born in the hospital in Zalaegerszeg.
In Budapest this year, a little boy, Donát, became the first newborn of the year.

Semmelweis University (SE) announced that at three in the morning a pair of twins - Bence and Balázs - were born at the Üllői út department of the institution's Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic.
The twins arrived at the 34th week of pregnancy, by caesarean section, as the first children in the family. Bence was born at 3:00 a.m. with a weight of 1,955 grams and 43 centimeters, and Balázs at 3:20 a.m. with a weight of 2,285 grams and 47 centimeters. The mother, Kitti, and the newborns are also fine, SE said.
