Ursula von der Leyen has finally stated in black and white that Brussels ties our EU resources to LGBTQ rights and the migration quota.

The President of the European Commission spoke at the plenary session of the European Parliament on Wednesday: this year will be a global year of elections, the world will continue to change, two bloody wars are taking place near Europe. The world is full of conflicts, which is why big challenges must be faced responsibly. According to him, the lesson is: if Europe acts unitedly, it can be strong. Von der Leyen drew attention to the migration agreement at the end of last year.

According to him, the other important decision was that the EU opened negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.

He emphasized that the Ukrainians improved the situation of national minorities and the action against corruption. According to him, Ukraine's democratic institutions are performing their tasks, and he is proud that Europe responded to Ukraine's request.

According to Von der Leyen, the EU must also start its own reform processes in order to be able to cooperate with more than thirty member states, since accession negotiations are underway with several countries. He stated: the last European Council meeting committed itself to supporting Ukraine, but this now requires the country's financial support. This also requires a rethought EU budget: funding for Ukraine, competitiveness, support for the Balkan countries, and funding for action against natural disasters are also needed.

Regarding Hungary, he talked about: it is about fundamental values.

The rule of law must be ensured in the EU, while being fair to the member states.

That is why the European Commission created the annual reports on the rule of law for the member states. The Commission feels it is its duty to achieve reforms in the Member States. Hungary adopted judicial reforms, also based on the Commission's recommendations. According to von der Leyen, Hungary has limited political influence in the judiciary. The Commission demanded this, and the Hungarian government implemented it.

At the same time, twenty billion euros are still locked up, and this is connected to LGBTQ issues, the migration agreement, and the issue of freedom of science. As long as there is no progress in this regard, Hungary will not receive the additional funds, stated the head of the Commission.

These conditions, in which there will be no change, Hungary must move forward in this - Von der Leyen finally emphasized.
