The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem visited Budapest, where he met the Prime Minister and also participated in the prayer breakfast of the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa at the Carmelite Monastery, with whom he discussed helping the Christians living in the region amid the currently raging war conflict.

According to the Hungarian Prime Minister and the Patriarch of Jerusalem, it must be avoided that fighting and hostility lead to the disappearance of Christian communities in the Holy Land.

Hungary - through the Hungary Helps program - will continue to help the survival of Christianity in the Middle East, it will also provide support for humanitarian and religious purposes to the people living there, it was said at the meeting.
