There are several people who feel that they could benefit from some land from neighboring countries.

According to Claudiu Târziu, a senator from the Association for the Unification of Romanians (AUR), Romania can only be a sovereign country if it also annexes the territories that once belonged to Romania, but are now part of Ukraine.

"We are on the way to a response, as at other times, we must come to terms with these great powers in order to acquire and supplement our sovereignty. We will only be truly sovereign if we restore the natural borders of the Romanian state. We cannot forget Northern Bukovina! South Bessarabia is unforgettable! Herța, Subcarpathia, everything that belongs to the Romanian nation must return to the borders of the state!" - said the politician who is the number two leader of the AUR on the holiday of the unification of Moldova and Havasaland on January 24 in Iași.

Târziu began to explain afterwards. He said that he was not actually demanding the annexation of the territories, he was only talking about sovereignty.

In March of last year, the draft law submitted to the parliament by Senator Diana Șoșoacă, which would have terminated the 1997 Romanian-Ukrainian Good Neighbor and Cooperation Agreement, aimed at the "re-attachment" of the territories that belonged to Romania between the two world wars and are currently part of Ukraine.

The politician who won a mandate on the AUR list and currently represents the SOS Romania Party, which he founded, wrote in one of the articles of his failed law amendment draft: "Romania annexes the historical territories belonging to it, namely Northern Bukovina, Herța, Bugeac, the Ukrainian part of the historical Máramaros and the Kıgyó- island!".
