In the previous election period, thanks to the initiative of the member of parliament György Gyimesi, the Bratislava parliament accepted the amendment to the law on traffic signs, and then the Ministry of Transport the executive decree, according to which bilingual traffic direction signs can now be posted along the roads.

In Nagyszombat county, the process of displaying bilingual signs began in the fall of 2023.

In Nyitra county, we included such an objective in the program and action plan of the county coalition and had it accepted by our coalition partners. Before Monday's representative body meeting of the county government, we held the thematic meeting of the representative group of the Nyitra County of the Hungarian Association.

The county's budget for 2024 includes a relatively significant item for the renovation, replacement and natural reproduction of traffic signs along county roads.

At the thematic meeting of our representative group, we agreed with the director of the county office that during the natural reproduction of the traffic signs, the bilingualization of the direction signs from 3/4 of the frame will be carried out in the 4 southern districts of Nyitra county: Komáromi, Érsekújvári, Lévai and Vágsellyei districts.

In 2024, the bilingualization of traffic direction signs along the county roads in the county's four districts inhabited by Hungarians will also begin in 2024.

We also agreed that from 2025, the bilingualization of the brown tourist traffic signs posted along the county roads will begin in a similar way. By the end of 2026, we want to complete both processes in the southern districts of the county.
