Instead of angry farmers and tractors, only a few interested people and the organizers took part in the Budapest event, which can also be linked to the opposition.

The farmers' demonstration in Budapest announced for the weekend could be a political action: the Hungarian government is expected to solve the problems caused by Brussels' agricultural policy.

Only one tractor arrived in Budapest for the farmer and bee demonstration announced for the period between March 9 and 11, but it did not make it to the quay next to Kossuth Square, where the speeches were held by the organizers. The organizer, Anita Somogy County farmer Kernbaum, recently emphasized that farmers and beekeepers are going to the capital because small and medium-sized farms are being destroyed one after another. However, the lack of interest was predictable.

Practically neither the beekeepers nor the farmers were present at the demonstration, only a few interested people listened to the speeches.

The organizers claimed that the movement was not a political action, they only wanted to draw the government's attention to the difficult situation of the farmers.

At the same time, the demonstration can hardly be considered a politically neutral movement, since one of the speakers, János Bencze, is a Jobbik member of parliament and a member of the Parliament's agriculture committee.

The posts on the social media pages of the organizers and speakers also hinted at the anti-government views of the organizers and speakers, who in their speeches condemned the government not only for the situation of farmers, but also for education.

The political intent is clearly shown by the fact that the organizers specifically criticized the government, and furthermore pointed to existing problems that were not caused by Budapest, but by Brussels, and the vast majority of producers are aware of this fact.

If only because farmers protested in 18 EU member states in recent weeks.

An important difference, however, is that the Hungarian farmers warned at their recent protest at the Hungarian-Ukrainian border that they were only demonstrating against the measures of Brussels, but not against the government, while farmers in other European countries are also dissatisfied with the national agricultural policy.

Tibor Cseh, the general secretary of MAGOSZ, pointed out to Mandiner: the results of the farmers' protests are already visible, Brussels has already backed down in several areas, but it is not yet a complete success.

Even before the event, Mandiner learned from several sources that the vast majority of farmers and beekeepers did not take the campaign seriously.

The three-day farmers' demonstration in the capital finally showed that the farmers really do not blame the government, nor the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy and MAGOSZ, which represents them. The two representatives were repeatedly criticized by the organizers of the demonstration.

According to Index's on-site report, about 100 people listened to the speeches held at the parliament on Saturday at József Antall the Elder's wharf, and there were no tractors. On the spot, the reaper puppet, also known from the demonstration held at the Opera House, welcomed the protesters, which this time also featured messages from Péter Magyar. The ex-husband of Judit Varga previously denied having anything to do with the giant doll.

The puppet caused a minor conflict among the protesters, one of them pointed out to the portal's question: "now he is sure that the leftist gender lobbyist pseudo-opposition is also behind the farmers' demonstration."
