The co-chairman of the LMP, Péter Ungár, considers it ridiculous that the triad hopes to win and replace the Orbán government.
The coalition of the Democratic Coalition, MSZP and Párbeszéd held the campaign opening event on Sunday, where Mayor Gergely Karácsony, shadow Prime Minister Klára Dobrev, leader of the EP list, and Deputy Mayor Kata Tüttő, candidate for EP, gave speeches, among others.
The co-chairman of the LMP, Péter Ungár, didn't even wait long, reacting to what was said at the event on his social media page.
It was more of a time travel or space jump to an alternate reality
- Ungár began his Facebook post, then added that "the alliance certainly cannot be called historic (even though several of the speakers said this in vain), since in the last ten years, two of the three parties have always teamed up with one of them".
Anyone who can honestly say, without laughing, that they can force early elections in the EP elections in June, is selling false hope to the opposition voters, which in our opinion is a serious mistake
- believes the LMP politician, after explaining that after the historic defeat in 2022, it is quite far-fetched to believe that they can defeat Fidesz on June 9, and then call early elections to replace power the very next day. Ungár considers this rather ridiculous.
In his opinion, four years ago this "could have been a great campaign event" , but if the coalition comes up with exactly the same tactics two years after the historic defeat, it will be the politics of the past and will fail in the same way it did in 2022 . And this "rightly causes anger and disappointment in voters" . According to him, Karácsony did just that, but they will do the exact opposite.

Fidesz also reacted
Fidesz responded to the campaign opening event of the opposition coalition in a statement, in which it called it "the event of Ferenc Gyurcsány and the left" .
