Not only in the capital as a whole, but also in the districts, the narrative of "bleeding out" of the left seems to be changing, meanwhile, due to coalition problems, there will definitely not be a general assembly in May, even if there are important topics.

Not long after the 2019 local government elections, the left's narrative about the bleeding of the government was born, and they were not hindered by the fact that after the coronavirus epidemic, both the capital and the left-wing districts were able to register more income than before. By the way, Újpest and Józsefváros are also among these, as a surplus of billions was generated in both districts.

Quantified, more than three billion forints remained in Újpest, while 12.2 billion remained with the municipality in Józsefváros. With such sums, it is ridiculous to talk about bloodletting, however, if we look at the cases that have upset the moods in the two districts, and have been upsetting the mood in recent times, then the final accounting issues a certificate of poverty for the mayors as well.

For example, the temporary mayor of Újpest, Tibor Déri, made a misleading statement on the occasion of Children's Day on his social media page when he said: today everything is about the children in Újpest, but as the Budapest faction of the Fidesz-KDNP highlighted, the mayor could not answer that the more than three billion Why is the municipality selling the Katalinpuszta children's camp despite the HUF remaining amount. Or, as suggested by the faction in the capital city: they could use this amount to fix road defects, clean public areas, and support the district's pensioners.

The situation is similar in VIII. in the district as well, where András Pikó stated in relation to the 12.2 billion surplus: they also formed a reserve for the reserve, which meant that investments were slipping. By the way, the mayor admitted that they were too careful. In this regard, the representative of Attila Egry (Fidesz–KDNP) explained: in 2021, the left-wing city administration managed to run in one place. Investments that have been realized were all started by the previous city administration, such as the renovation of Blaha Lujza tér or Déri Miksa utca. In the meantime, the residents are trying to voice their dissatisfaction in every forum, as the district has visibly gone downhill.

In contrast to the left, the government continues to treat the development of the capital as a priority, as evidenced by the appointment of Zsolt Láng, the former leader of the Fidesz-KDNP faction in the capital, who will now assist Minister Tibor Navracsics in his work, and as a government commissioner he will be responsible for the development of Budapest and Pest County.
