The man who became one of the founders and vice-presidents of the party in which Péter Magyar recently took a role was a secret agent of the communist system - it was said at the Mi Hazánk Mozgalom's press conference in Budapest on Tuesday.

Vice President Előd Novák, Member of Parliament spoke about: Boldizsár Deák

"voluntarily and in bad faith reported his acquaintances", such as those who wanted to flee the system to the west.

The demand of Péter Magyar's party regarding anti-communism and the disclosure of the state security past is also bogus, while their leading official is seriously affected - said Előd Novák, stating that

“this will not be a new system; a dog doesn't make bacon".

Zsuzsanna Borvendég, the party's candidate for the European Parliament, said at the event: as a historian working on the subject, she requested Boldizsár Deák's "agent file", and from this we can learn that

the man was a member of the network between 1973 and 1983, and his detention officers often classified the agent's regular and frequent reports as valuable, containing information previously unknown to the agencies, i.e. "he harmed and caused damage to his environment".

Based on these, the agent with the pseudonym Sólyom is by no means one of the victims of the system - said Zsuzsanna Borvendég, adding that there was no evidence that the agent received financial compensation, but he was remarkably able to travel to the West a lot, while the majority of the population did not have such an opportunity at the time.

He added: during his travels, the man built and maintained relationships with, for example, the Hungarian emigration in the West.
