According to Thierry Breton, the EU's commitment to Ukraine is "stronger than ever".

The European defense industry must switch to war economy mode so that Europe can produce military equipment faster, more and jointly for the immediate and long-term support of Ukraine, stated Thierry Breton, Commissioner responsible for the internal market, in Brussels, after the one-day meeting of the EU-Ukraine Defense Industry Forum on Monday. According to the information provided by the European Union's External Affairs Service (EEAS), Thierry Breton stated that the strengthening of the defense industry cooperation between the EU and Ukraine is essential so that the member states are able to provide military support to Ukraine in the long term,

and better able to meet Ukraine's defense and industrial needs.

"Our commitment to Ukraine and our joint effort to mobilize European industry in order to fulfill the necessary measures is stronger than ever," said the EU Commissioner. According to the Brussels announcement, the EU-Ukraine Defense Industry Forum paves the way for concrete initiatives and agreements. It promotes the gradual integration of Ukrainian industry into the European Defense Technological and Industrial Base (EDTIB), they wrote. "As Russia continues its brutal war against Ukraine, the EU is committed to supporting Ukraine in whatever

what is needed to win in both the short and long term"

they said. The statement quoted EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, who said that strengthening cooperation between the Ukrainian and EU defense industry is crucial, as it helps Ukraine defend itself against Russia's war. "This could change the rules of the game in the long run," he said.
