All important positions in the European Commission would be taken away from our country because it does not support the uncontrolled financing of Kyiv and the re-election of Ursula von der Leyen.

They are fed up with Viktor Orbán's anti-Ukraine policy, which is why the EU leaders are planning to punish Hungary, three EU diplomats told Politico, anonymously, of course, as always.

According to the newspaper, Hungary would like to keep the position of the European Commission's Commissioner responsible for neighborhood and enlargement policy, which is currently held by Olivér Várhelyi, as this is also important for Ukraine's EU accession, but the EU leaders would deprive Hungarian politicians of all key roles.

As usual, Politico lists the must-haves about Hungary, according to which it is the closest ally of Russia and China in the European Union, and opposes support for Kiev.

The way Viktor Orbán confronts Ursula von der Leyen does not give the President of the Commission a chance to offer an important position to someone who is close to the Hungarian Prime Minister -

declared one of the diplomats, who said that Várhelyi's appointment five years ago was a "peace offer" to Hungary from Brussels, which was not fulfilled.
