Yesterday, the proud mother celebrated with her daughters at the Grand Palais, but today, together with their father, Zsolt, they are waiting for the twins to arrive in Budapest with the golden machine on Monday. Written by Zsuzsa Csisztu.

Often, undeservedly little is said about the support of families and parents in order for their children to become successful athletes. Behind the Márton girls, Viviana, the Olympic taekwondo champion since Friday night, and Luana, who was born just one minute earlier, are dedicated sports-loving parents. The mother, Barbara, and the father, Zsolt - who is not the same as the president of the association, dr. With Zsolt Márton - they were always sports-loving people.

"I played handball, my husband did kickboxing, so when we started our life in Tenerife, we knew we wanted to guide the twins towards sports. They tried a lot of things: they did athletics, swimming, volleyball, even flamenco, but all of them lacked something extra. So when our friends moved out here and they came up with the idea for taekwondo, we took Vivi and Luana down for a training session, which immediately absorbed the whole family."

– Barbara Kiss begins to revive the beginnings that became a success story.

As she tells it, after only three months, the Márton girls were taken to compete, as if they were born for this sport.

"In 2015, we met the current coach of the girls, who came to Tenerife for a training camp, and when we received clear signs that it would be worthwhile to move to Madrid so that the girls could continue with Jesus Ramal, we moved our business, which could be moved, since it is a salon, to the Spanish capital . I commuted between the two businesses for four or five years, but in 2018 we moved to the capital and decided to help them with all our strength"

Barbara recalls.

The talented Márton girls developed similarly dynamically in relation to each other, but when it was decided not to have them compete against each other, they had to target two different weight groups, in which one had to lose weight and the other had to get stronger. There are eight weight groups in the world competitions, but only four in the Olympics, but Luana found it easier to lose weight, so she aimed for 57 and Vivi for 67.

"Vivi was much stronger physically, so we thought that Vivi should try to get stronger, because she has a more massive body"

- the mother explained the choice of weight group.

They had to make a decision not only in this, but also in which country's flag they would compete under. "We always gravitated towards Hungary, and our girls wanted to compete in Hungarian colors, even though we get plenty of indications that the Spaniards also regret that they don't compete for them anymore. The Spanish always called the girls when they saw how talented they were, but for us it was not a question when we had to make a serious decision about it," shares the background of one of their most important decisions, the mother, who is aware that Spanish schools give girls a lot they gave Spanish, which is now used almost as a basic language, which they switch to Hungarian among themselves and also when a more personal tone is needed or if they don't want to share something with others.

One of the most difficult questions in the life of a parent, a mother, is when one of her similarly talented children gets along, but the other does not have the same desired goal. This is how it happened with the Olympic qualification, as Luana, the individual world champion, missed Paris, while Viviana became a member of the Hungarian Olympic team.

"It is unspeakably difficult, my mother's heart broke a little when it turned out that Luana will not be there at the Olympics, because we love their joint successes. But fortunately, they beat so much together that the fact that he was there in Paris as a training partner and helped his brother in everything is completely natural for us," says Barbara about the most difficult maternal feelings. "Viviana played yesterday and made an incredible connection with the audience, which surprised even us

– the mother details Viviana's amazing march.

It was a very tight motherly hug after the final when we finally met, but we still didn't really understand what had happened. Fortunately, there is a balance, because while Luana was already a world champion, now Vivi has become an Olympic champion. Vivi has a much more relaxed and easy-going personality, while Luana is more tactical, a bit more deliberate, who noted that in the 57 kilos category, people she had already beaten won in Paris. There is a difference between the souls of the girls, but they are both pure-hearted, in that they are completely the same. And finally: we're going to Los Angeles with both of them, that's our plan," said the happy mother.
