Both the illegal acquisition of data and the violation of business secrets are punishable by up to three years in prison.

Mol - Új Európa Alápítvány is filing a complaint regarding the illegal acquisition of data, the organization announced on Monday.

According to the announcement, in recent days several articles have been published on the 444.hu portal in connection with the Mol - Új Európa Foundation, which talked about the foundation's support and operations.

"It is important to point out that these articles are mainly based on data that was illegally removed from the Foundation's IT system. In connection with the illegal acquisition of the data, the Foundation has initiated the necessary legal steps and is filing a police report," they said.

They added that, as they emphasized in their letter sent to the editors earlier, both the illegal acquisition of data and the violation of trade secrets are punishable by up to three years in prison, and whoever discloses this data also commits a crime.

Mol - Új Európa Alápítvány fully cooperates with the authorities in the investigation of the case, the announcement states.
