According to the Russian foreign minister, Brussels destroyed their relations with its unilateral actions, so they are forced to "take comfort" with China.

There are no relations between Moscow and the European Union, Brussels has destroyed them with its unilateral actions, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared in Beijing on Tuesday after talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Ji.

"If Europe broke these relations, simply destroying all the mechanisms that have been created over the years - and our partners are left only with some European countries that want to be guided by their national interests - then this must objectively lead to a faster development of our relations with China Lavrov said.

According to the Russian foreign minister, Moscow has no relations with the European Union as an organization, the entire infrastructure of the relationship was destroyed by the unilateral decisions of Brussels.

The Russian Foreign Minister added that if the European Union deems it expedient to eliminate this anomaly in relations with Russia, Moscow will be ready to do so based on equality and balance of interests.
