A comprehensive citizen's monthly enriches the domestic magazine market. Iránytű is an avowedly Christian, conservative magazine, which refutes the bad or rather malicious prejudice that only bloodless, smeared and boring content can be edited in the spirit of the above adjectives.

In the first issue, the editor-in-chief, Péter Szendi, stated quite matter-of-factly in his greeting that "the reader is holding a 16-page, colorful, civic, public monthly newspaper" and "for now, they can read the newspaper in Balatonfűzfő, later, according to our plans, in the small region to which eleven settlements belong".

The publisher, János Farkas Bárdi, testifies in more detail about the choice of name and their purpose: "The Compass and its ideology, the choice of the name is conscious and well-thought-out, and plays an important role in the achievement of the designated goals in itself, in the publication of our civic values".

János Bárdi Farkas is one of the founders of the Báró Wesselényi Miklós Foundation Primary School, Vocational High School and Elementary Art School in Balatonfüzfő. The founder speaks about their history and goals so far in an interview in the columns of Iranytű.

"Our undisclosed goal in establishing the school was to promote the preservation of Hungarian traditions and national consciousness, thus preserving our identity. Eight years ago, we started the academic year with thirteen people, and ended it with thirty-six people. We started the next year with 120 students, currently we have nearly two hundred students.

The notes of the respective issues are written by no less public figures, such as jr. Zoltán Lomnici or Georg Spöttle. Both of them made important statements about Hungarianness and Hungarian consciousness. The constitutional lawyer believes: "the peculiarities of the Hungarian language determine our thinking, its cultivation and use are a real treasure in our possession.

However, being Hungarian is more than being able to understand and speak one of the most unique languages in the world. Being Hungarian is a matter of pride, attitude and way of life. It means that we cling to our country, the mountains, the plains, the waters, all our natural treasures. We know the historical vicissitudes of our country, we respect the heritage of King Szent István, our ancestors who defended the country, our heroes who fought for freedom, who gave their blood for the country."

The demanding paper perfectly fits the spirit of Veszprém-Balaton 2023, the cultural capital of Europe, whose slogan is: Hungary's new cultural and creative region.
