Hungary will be one of the first to submit its recovery plan to the European Commission , the minister in charge of the Prime Minister's Office announced yesterday.
Gergely Gulyás recalled: Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, on Friday, where, in addition to current issues, matters related to the future of the European Union were also on the agenda.
Among the current issues, the most important was the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) for mitigating the consequences of the crisis caused by the coronavirus epidemic. From the recovery fund, Hungary is entitled to 2,511 billion non-refundable subsidies, and in addition, it is possible to take out a loan of 3,384 billion forints.
Gergely Gulyás emphasized: Hungary is well placed to prepare the restart plan and will be among the first to submit it. He added: the prime minister made it clear to the chairman of the committee that Hungary will submit its own restart plan to the non-refundable support portion of the fund.
The minister said: the Hungarian plan has clear focuses, such as the development of health care, on which the government would spend the most, and it also includes the development of infrastructure, as well as railway and agglomeration HÉV developments. Priority areas are also the development of higher education and the transition to the circular economy.
