The Hungarian Athletics Association is launching an athletics program for children aged 6-10. All this is being organized in connection with the 2023 World Cup to be held in Budapest.

For this age group, playful tasks and the experience of competing are the most important, which the organizers know exactly, so the program is based on this. In the associations, trained and qualified coaches are waiting for the elementary school children, and with their help, physical education teachers can even lead sessions within the school and develop basic movements. In September, a multi-level competition system will be launched, in which children from other sports can also apply.

Athletics is a sport that is easily accessible to all children due to its extensive association system, good infrastructure and low equipment requirements in the early stages. It is not by chance that athletics is called the queen of sports,

, coach Attila Zsivoczky said about the Athlete Program from the Kid

"The more children learn about athletics, the more young people will want to do athletics, the bigger the base from which Hungarian athletics can draw in the future. We believe that athletics includes forms of movement that every young person should get to know. Whether you become a soccer player, water polo player or pentathlon player, you can move on with foundations that are very useful for your later career. In this way, the world championship not only helps athletics, but universal Hungarian sport".
