The debate on the draft budget for 2022 will begin tomorrow in the Parliament. The bill foresees dynamic economic growth of 5.2 percent, moderate inflation of 3 percent, a 5.9 percent GDP deficit, and HUF 233 billion in reserves.

The cohesion policy EU resources available to Hungary in the programming period between 2021-2027 amount to HUF 7,900 billion. From this, larger sums are expected to be paid next year, thereby helping to strengthen businesses.

It is a change that the use of funds intended for agricultural and rural development is changing significantly compared to previous periods. Due to the amendments in this area, the European Commission introduced two transitional years. This extended the scope of the currently running Rural Development Program, so the new programming period does not begin until 2023.

In the case of agricultural subsidies, in a unique way, the amount of national co-financing available in addition to Brussels sources will be the maximum amount of eighty percent. As a result, it will be possible to distribute almost three times as much support as before. In other words: the Hungarian government can spend more than HUF four thousand billion in the coming years to strengthen the countryside, agriculture and the food industry.

The European Union's recovery and resilience tool was created to mitigate the economic and social effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The amount of the non-refundable aid provided to our country is HUF 2,512 billion.
