The media, which defines itself as independent and objective, did not burst with joy when it saw that the conservative side remembered the events of the spring and then bloody autumn of 2006 in numerous articles.

24.hu writes about the phenomenon in its article " The government media threw itself into the Ószöd anniversary with great enthusiasm

"According to the compilation of Telex, the current governing party, Fidesz, took a rather serious look at the speech that was leaked months later, which brought about a government crisis, street violence and the strengthening of the extreme right, and which was originally given in a closed circle."

And in Telex, the Fidesz media remembers Gyurcsány's őszödi speech with the mentioned Carpet bombing , he writes in detail about which days and for what occasion it is customary to remember in our country, and begins his report as follows:

"The anniversary of the Ószöd speech is always a special event in the lives of media close to Fidesz, they don't forget to remember the events of 2006."

444 manifests itself in a similar way , as if it had colluded with the other independents; or simply they are all so objective:

"But it's really such a big day for the Fidesz media that the 2006 Özöd speech is constantly being pushed, both in its entirety and in detail, on virtually every surface, including M1."

Elsewhere, they either don't mention the anniversary, or write it off as negative news, presumably in the name of objectivity. And then let's stop here for a moment and then ask the following questions, first of all, why is it not important to them, at least ten times? Would Gyurcsány have disappeared from public life? Because this is the message of the comments of the opposition press: why are you dealing with something that has long since expired, it has no significance and will never have, neither today nor tomorrow!

But really, why does it bother independents that the government media is reviving in detail a series of events from 15 years ago, that is, not exactly fossils, which had a decisive influence on the country's fate? I only ask because at least it happened. Or maybe that's what's wrong with him? That it really happened, and now, before the elections, it would be better not to talk about it, at least not so much, because every single sentence or picture that is written and accurately records the events of the past makes Feri's rehabilitation more difficult? Isn't that what it's all about?

By the way, the sarcastic accusation with which they shoot us, according to which we are dealing with Gyurcsany so much because of the approach of the elections, is admirable! Iron logic! And outrageous, isn't it? That a politician politicizes, or that a political journalist writes about political content! That is, if the person is conservative. Because then it's set up so that he's not even doing his job, he's just killing a character.

The independent and objective media are outraged and exasperated by the conservative commemoration of the Özöd speech, which on a daily basis describes - or suggests - that Eastern vaccines are not good, unsafe, have not been tested extensively enough, etc. The independent and objective media is outraged and riled up now, which commits character assassination on Lőrinc Mészáros on a daily basis, but forgets to report the four million euros that suddenly appeared in the bank account of EU health commissioner Stella Kyriakides. The independent and objective media, which for years in the wake of the migration crisis pushed more and more blatant lies about nuclear physicists and brain surgeons, but has never written it down since saying sorry, we were wrong, is outraged and aggravated.

On the other hand, we have very bad news over there, beyond the glass mountain, where, according to his own ideas, the capital profession resides: you will not rehabilitate Gyurcsány, because it is not possible. Of course, you can relativize the events related to him, the actions of relatives and friends, you can make it slide, and you can even lie unabashedly. But one thing is impossible: erasing 2006 from the memory of the conservative side. And the situation is that it would not be possible to wipe it out even if only half or a third of us, government journalists, were to deal with Ferenc Gyurcsány's rampage.

I wrote about the former prime minister in 2018 , and I still think differently today:

"As long as Ferenc Gyurcsány can burden Hungarian public life with his presence, and what's more, he can form a parliamentary faction, then just like the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the 1956 revolution and freedom struggle, the spiritual, spiritual and moral whole of Hungarian society will remain wounded."

And the fact that Gyurcsány can still be present, and even that he can seize power through his wife and his friends, is why the "independent and objective" media has an irreplaceable role. It doesn't hurt to keep this in mind when liberal scribblers write about anything, lying about being independent. Or sometimes simply as a journalist.
