Kindergartens and kindergartens renovated by the Transylvanian Reformed Church District with the support of the Hungarian state were inaugurated on Wednesday in Szászrégen and Marosludas in Maros County.

"Children give meaning to our whole lives. The life of every people depended on whether there were children, whether there was a future. No matter how much we can work, no matter how much wealth we can collect, it will all come to nothing if we don't have heirs," said Béla Kató, bishop of the Transylvanian Reformed Church District, in his Saxon devotion.

He pointed out: the restored church building has now been renovated and given a new purpose and promises a future and support to the Hungarians of the Saxon period, to the parents who have children. It indicates to young people starting a family in their homeland that they are not alone, that the community and the nation support their undertaking.

Márk Endre, the mayor of Szaszrégen, also believed that the Hungarian nursery school points to the future, encourages family formation and childbearing, is a guarantee of survival, unites and strengthens the Hungarian community decimated by emigration. Whoever builds a crèche, kindergarten, or school builds the future - emphasized the mayor, who was elected last year as a candidate of the Romanian Democratic Party (RMDSZ) to head the Romanian-majority city, and promised: the city will make sure that the new crèche is in the best conditions, preserving its value in the long term, can operate carrying the Hungarian spirit.

Péter Ferenc, the RMDSZ chairman of the Maros county council, assessed the opening of the mother-tongue nursery school as a historic moment in the life of the Hungarian community in Saxonia, and wished that there would always be over-subscription, enough Hungarian children to populate the nursery school and other Hungarian educational institutions. The Saxon nursery school of the Transylvanian Reformed Church District started its operation in a renovated 350 square meter property, where it provides care for 30 Hungarian children in three groups of nursery schools. The value of the investment is HUF 80 million.

After the opening of the kindergarten in Szaszrégen, the Marosludas kindergarten of the Transylvanian Reformed Church District was handed over. The 380-square-meter property can accommodate two kindergarten groups and one nursery school, so the institution can accommodate forty kindergarten and ten nursery school children.
