According to the government's decision, the vaccination of the 12- to 15-year-old age group can soon begin, and those affected can already register for the vaccine. For now, young people are immunized with the Pfizer vaccine, but experiments are already underway by the developers of Astra Zeneca and Szputnyik V.

Parents who feel responsible for their children and the community will vaccinate their children. Immunity can develop even before the start of the school year, so in September young people can already be immunized in the community - virus researcher Miklós Rusvai told Kossuth Rádió Good morning, Hungary! in his show.

He added that parents can achieve several advantages with this, as they protect not only teachers, but also themselves and family members whom the children meet.

Currently, Pfizer is released for the age group between 12 and 15 years old, so they will receive the most modern vaccine with the fewest side effects. Children's immune systems are very reactive, that's why

in them, this vaccine is excellent, it will most likely induce immunity for at least one year.

In those countries where a high percentage of adults were already vaccinated, the average age of those infected interestingly went down. It is also important to immunize children, because without it, the number of infected people in the younger age group would most likely increase, the virus researcher pointed out.

Miklós Rusvai said that trials are ongoing with Astra Zeneca and Szputnyik V, but currently in Hungary, clinical test results with Pfizer have been accepted in this age group, so this is the only vaccine available.

Pfizer already has several licenses,

the clinical test results have already been accepted by the American Medicines Agency and the European Medicines Agency.

Regarding the extent to which the vaccination of the age group increases the country's resistance to the virus, he emphasized that it does not matter whether the parents request the vaccine for 50, 100 or 150 thousand children. How effective this will be depends on the vaccination rate, but this will not be decisive from the point of view of the immunization of the entire population.

Miklós Rusvai recommended to the attention of skeptical parents that the long-term effects of possible infections and diseases in children can be serious and are not yet sufficiently known. That is why, according to the virus researcher, it is definitely worth vaccinating children.
