- Hungary moved up five places in the competitiveness ranking published by the IMD World Competitiveness Center of - said Minister of Finance Mihály Varga at a press conference in Budapest on Thursday .

In the ranking of 63 countries in the 2021 IMD Competitiveness Yearbook prepared with the cooperation of the independent economic research institute ICEG European Center, Hungary thus moved to 42nd place, achieving the third largest improvement.

The Minister of Finance highlighted: the significant progress is due to the fact that the government followed clear principles in the area of ​​economic protection measures the goal from the beginning was that Hungary could not only effectively protect itself from the economic effects of the epidemic, but also be able to come out of the crisis with an advantage.
