The Civil Justice Committee will carry out thorough work in naming those responsible for 2006

We can provide satisfaction to the citizens of the nation and contribute to the clarity of the young voters who will go to the ballot box in 2022 - Zoltán Lomnici Jr., legal expert of the Civil Solidarity Forum - Civil Solidarity Non-profit Foundation (CÖF-CÖKA), told our newspaper in connection with the fact that the recently, the organization established a Civil Justice Commission to investigate the events of 2006. The committee will focus on four main areas: the issue of regime change, the looting of the country, and the backlog of justice; the 2006 Gyurcsány terror and its consequences; concerning the years 2007-2008, regarding the abuses related to the national wealth, based on the report of the State Audit Office at the time, and the current activities of the perpetrators of that time at the Budapest self-government. The lessons learned from the accountability process after 2010 are also taken into account.

The civil body CÖF-CÖKA, which, if it will carry out serious, thorough work in connection with the naming of those responsible in the mentioned areas, will already represent a kind of result, but of course, if the opportunity arises, we will also take the necessary legal steps, said Lomnici. According to him, the pursuit of objectivity is ensured by the fact that Miklós Völgyesi, retired Supreme Court judge, lawyer Zsolt Zétényi, and constitutional lawyer Attila Magyar-Zsolnay are also members of the board.
