According to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the government must make unexpected, powerful and serious intervention decisions, and then the 5.5 percent economic growth and tax refunds for families can be achieved.

Answering a question at a joint press conference with the Slovak Prime Minister in Budapest on Tuesday, Viktor Orbán cautioned against economic growth and indicated that if the economic restart operative led by Péter Szijjártó does not bring to the government 15-20 very serious, perhaps surprising, powerful measures, and the government does not approve these in the next week or two, then there will be no 5.5 percent growth in Hungary.

"The economy will not grow by 5.5 percent on its own, for this we need government motives, motivations, and effects, and effects must be induced," he said.

The Hungarian Prime Minister also spoke about: he sees serious problems in the building materials industry, with price increases exceeding one hundred percent, so the state support for renovation is immediately "pumped" from the people to the companies that produce building materials. He called this unacceptable, adding: measures would be necessary and he would like the government to be able to discuss them this week.
