If there is one thing we can be sure of, it is that the German press is constantly and steadfastly lying about Hungary. So it's no wonder that the uninformed Germans view our country and the people living here with suspicion, to say the least.
Balázs Orbán and Zoltán Szalai 's volume was completed roughly two years ago, in which they tried to paint a true and unprejudiced picture of "The Character of the Hungarian State", and now this work is being published in German. The volume will hopefully contribute to the average German citizen getting to know the real Hungary better, and getting to know it will also bring understanding.
Balázs Orbán announced the birth of the German edition on his Facebook page:

"Our book entitled "The Character of the Magyar State" edited together with Zoltán Szalai and presented almost two years ago, was also published in German by Springer Kiadó. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote the foreword to the 28 studies.

It's a shame to deny it: my co-editor and I were both filled with pride by the fact that our volume attracted the interest of such a well-established German publisher. But I think that, in addition to feeding our personal pride and the added scientific value of the book, all of this also points to an important element of the European political tradition.

The importance of "The Character of the Hungarian State" lies in the fact that it tries to present - now also to the German audience - who we Hungarians are, how we think, and why we think the way we do. A mutually understood political culture is perhaps what we need most these days. After all, there is an increasing number of political topics which, although they do not direct attention to real social problems, are suitable for whipping up tension.

Therefore, I wholeheartedly recommend the book to those who would like to recommend an objective study volume about Hungary to their German friends and acquaintances.

Book launch coming soon. See you in Berlin!”
