The charity run "We are of the same blood" starts

The "We are from one blood" charity run starts today for the seventh time , which, in addition to encouraging blood donation, also draws attention to solidarity with Hungarians across the border.

On the days following the arrival at the finish line, the Egy Vérből Vagyunk Foundation, with the support of the State Secretariat for National Policy, organizes sports programs for the young people of the Magyar-Fülpös scattered college.

“Is your heart beating? Do you have two legs? Have you noticed that there are other people in the world besides you? If so, then even during the coronavirus epidemic, you can certainly help others and join one of the points of our event!" - can be read in the invitation to the event.

This year's motto of the We Are of One Blood charity run is that instead of constantly lamenting the past, the joy of helping and moving should be what unites us. The charity run ends 6 days and 600 kilometers later at Szórványkollegium in Magyarfülpös, Transylvania.

The home, which provides temporary shelter, was founded 20 years ago by the Reformed pastor István Ady.
Children who could not learn in their mother tongue were brought here and had to fight for life and death to get their daily bread, they had to face domestic violence, alcoholism, etc. every day.

Unfortunately, they can only be residents of the home on weekdays, they have to go home for the weekend, so on Thursday their eyes are teary when they think that they will be "home" the next day. It is not uncommon that they do not eat anything for the whole weekend, and most of them sleep on the concrete floor in an unheated room, there is no electricity or water in their homes.

At the moment, 49 Hungarian children have found temporary shelter in Szórványkollegium, they are running to them.
For the children, for five days following the arrival at the destination of the charity event, the We Are Blood Foundation organizes a sports camp, with which they want to give them unforgettable experiences. The event is accompanied by a blood donation campaign, at three locations along the running route,

We organize blood donation days in Budapest, Szolnok and Berettyóújfalu. It will be possible to donate blood in these settlements in the blood donation bus of the National Blood Transfusion Service.
