A historical equestrian musical entitled Hunyadi 1456 will be presented in Simonpuszta at the Géza Szőcs National Horse Culture Center on Saturday.

According to the announcement sent to MTI by the organizers, the Hungarian Historical Theater began operating on September 11, 2020, with its first independent presentation of the historical musical 1456 by Szabolcs Balásy, Krisztián Horváth and Moravetz Levente Hunyadi.

The author trio recorded such historical musicals as Zrínyi 1566, A Fejedelem, Isten rabjai and Rajkók.

With their piece Hunyadi 1456, the creators recall a glorious period of Hungarian history. The audience can learn from the performance how the main character was left alone and how he was able to achieve victory. "János Hunyadi was the kind of leader of the country whose death, according to the eyewitnesses' description, was even caused by his opponent, World Dominion II. Sultan Mehmed also made him cry," reads the description of the play.

Sándor Sasvári, Zsuzsa Debrei, Árpád Besenczi, Endre Beleznay, Róbert Gergely and Ádám Ottlik play in the large-scale performance with more than 100 actors. The scenery was designed by Miklós Bényei and the costumes by Gabriella Molnár. The production is directed by Levente Moravetz, choreographed by Zoltán Halmi, and composed by Szabolcs Balásy.
