Due to the attacks on the country, the government announces a five-point referendum initiative.

The government is initiating a child protection referendum, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced in a Facebook video on Wednesday.

"Brussels has clearly attacked Hungary in recent weeks because of the child protection law ," the Prime Minister explained their decision, then continued:

- Hungarian laws do not allow sexual propaganda in kindergartens, schools, television and advertisements. Brussels is now demanding changes to the education law and child protection rules. They complain that what has already been achieved in Western Europe is not possible here. (…) The government decided to initiate a referendum on five issues.

The questions will be:

• Do you support the holding of classes on sexual orientation for minor children in public educational institutions without the consent of the parent?

• Do you support the promotion of gender reassignment treatments for minors?

• Do you support making gender reassignment treatments available to minors?

• Do you support showing minor children sexual content that affects their development without restrictions?

• Do you support showing gender reassignment media content to minors?
