In the past ten or eleven years, the government has reunited the Hungarian nation with joint efforts, and as a result, being Hungarian is increasingly becoming an advantage instead of a disadvantage everywhere in the Carpathian Basin, said the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for national policy on Friday in Sátoraljaújhely, at an event called the Carpathian Basin Summer Free University.

János Árpád Potápi emphasized at the meeting held in place of the Bálványosi Free University and Student Camp, which was canceled due to the coronavirus epidemic, that the Hungarian communities in the Carpathian Basin can be strong if Hungary is strong economically, morally and politically. In the last hundred years, there have not been ten or eleven years as productive as the period lasting 2010 hours. The government was able to strengthen Hungarianness, the Hungarian national communities in the Carpathian Basin and in the diaspora. Hungarians must be represented in all possible political arenas in order to strengthen their institutions, for example in the fields of education, culture and sports, he said.

János Árpád Potápi said that Hungary is the home of all Hungarians, no matter where they live in the world; the Hungarian nation is now a unified world nation.

At the discussion entitled "Lájkép csatsa vět - Round table of foreign party presidents", László Brenzovics , president of the Subcarpathian Hungarian Cultural Association, said that Ukraine has now become the poorest country in Europe, where the rights of national minorities have been abolished as a result of legislative changes in recent years. He emphasized that in the recent period, those "international guardians" from whom they previously hoped for help in order to protect the rights of minorities seem to have shaken. At the same time, László Brenzovics thanked the Hungarian government for the support provided to Hungarians across the border.

István Pásztor , the president of the Vojvodina Hungarian Association (VMSZ), said that the coronavirus epidemic proved that it is not true that you can live and prosper without politics. The people realized that the "Hungarian political option" could be of great help in their everyday affairs, and as a result, the VMSZ achieved a result that had not been seen in thirty years in the Serbian election, he explained, adding that their organization has nine members of parliament and seven state secretaries.

Krisztán Forró , the president of the Hungarian Community Party (MKP) in the highlands, said that they had recently asked the Slovak government to improve the situation of minorities in vain, but this did not happen even though there was an opportunity to do so. As an example, he mentioned that Slovakian-Hungarian dual citizenship is still not guaranteed for the Hungarian community in the highlands.

Róbert Jankovics , the president of the Democratic Community of Hungarians in Croatia, emphasized that their organization managed to maintain its previous position in last year's parliamentary election and was able to further deepen its cooperation with the center-right government there.

Ferenc Horváth , the president of the Hungarian National Association of Municipalities in Muravidék, said: for the first time in thirty years, they were able to conclude a truly practical agreement with the Slovenian government, which, in addition to the Hungarian resources, means a great help to the Hungarian community in Muravidék.

István Csomortányi , the president of the Transylvanian Hungarian People's Party, emphasized that they support the Hungarian referendum on child protection and will do everything possible to ensure that as many Transylvanian dual citizens as possible participate in it and vote five nos on the questions asked. He also mentioned that, according to their hope, within a few months, the Transylvanian Hungarian Federation could be legally established by the merger of the Transylvanian Hungarian People's Party and the Hungarian Civil Party.

Barna Tánczos , Minister of Environmental Protection of Romania, politician of the Romanian Hungarian Democratic Alliance (RMDSZ), assessed that the last year was successful for the Transylvanian Hungarians. In the Romanian government, "we are not inconspicuous", he said, adding that he is confident that the current cabinet can remain in office for a long time. Barna Tánczos also said that at next year's meeting in Tusványos, participants will no longer have to be afraid of bears.
