This year, the government will also support the outsourced courses of Hungarian higher education institutions operating in the Carpathian Basin, and the universities will also announce their courses abroad in 2021, the Parliamentary and Strategic State Secretary of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) told MTI.

Tamás Schanda added: trainings of national strategic importance play a gap-filling role in ensuring the supply of Hungarian intellectuals abroad.

"The education and research space in the Carpathian Basin is a common value, its implementation and maintenance is a national interest, which is why the government has generously supported it for years," the state secretary was quoted as saying:

"In 2010, there was no government program supporting Hungarian training abroad, which is Ferenc Gyurcsány in the referendum on dual citizenship".

Outsourced training courses are announced in Révkomárom, Beregszász, Csíkszereda, Nagyvárad, Székelyudvarhely, Marosvásárhely, Sepsiszentgyörgy, Illyefalva, Szabadka, Zentá and Zombor.

The ten higher education institutions participating in the program (Corvinus University of Budapest, University of Debrecen, Edutus University, Károli Gáspár Reformed University, Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE), Nyíregyházi University, Óbuda University, Pécs University, Sárospatak Reformed Theological Academy, Semmelweis University) its state scholarship-supported or self-funded courses cover diverse areas and cover almost all of the Hungarian-inhabited regions across the border in the Carpathian Basin, the announcement states.

The ministry reminded: last year, more than 1,100 young people took part in the trainings, more than a tenth of them in the rural development agricultural engineering bachelor's program of the Szent István University (from February 1 Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences - MATE), in Székelyudvarhely. Also in the city of Székelyföld, many students were attracted by Edutus University's bachelor's degree in commerce and marketing. The bachelor's degree courses in agricultural engineering have also proved popular, at the University of Debrecen in Nagyvárád, and at the University of Szent István in Zenta.

This year, as a new opportunity, the University of Pécs is launching an undivided master's program for painters and sculptors in Sepsiszentgyörgy, and a master's program for singing, music and physical education teachers in Beregszász at the University of Nyíregyháza.

In the spirit of solidarity, the Hungarian state supports state scholarship programs in the same way and to the same extent as in domestic practice, the ministry wrote. They added: however, the entire range is also available at self-cost. The admission procedures are carried out by the higher education institutions concerned in August and September.
