Hungarian athletes will participate in ten sports and 81 events at the Tokyo Paralympics starting next Tuesday, on which there will be a day when Hungarians can be finalists in up to 12 events.

Among other things, László Szabó, the president of the Hungarian Paralympic Committee (MPB), spoke at a press conference on Wednesday. He reminded her that the current Paralympics will be a special one, and the most important thing to pay attention to was that the special rules brought in due to the Covid situation had to be followed in their entirety.

Referring to the data, he reminded that the Hungarian team consists of 37 athletes plus Róbert Ocelka's visually impaired cyclist guide. The swimmers Zsófia Konkoly and Bianka Pap will compete in the most - in terms of numbers - five competitions, and the president highlighted that there will also be Hungarian teams in women's dagger and dueling, women's and men's table tennis, and swimming relay . He also mentioned that they have already received a lot of help from the Hungarian Embassy in Tokyo, Ambassador Norbert Palanovics, who informed him that starting Monday, there will be an exhibition of Hungarian para-athletes for a month at the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Tokyo.

The Paralympics will start on Tuesday with the opening ceremony, then the competitions will last from Wednesday to September 4, and the closing ceremony will take place on the 5th.
