On August 20, the NGO Pro Cultura Subcarpathica started the celebration of our state founder King Saint István with a statue unveiling. Tibor Türök's work was installed in the park of Mezőkaszony.
The unveiling of the bust was preceded by a celebratory mass in the Roman Catholic church of Mezőkaszony named after King Saint István Antal Majnek .
- "In the Carpathian Basin, the name of our King St. István is synonymous with Hungarian history, Hungarian statehood, permanence, the Carpathian Basin," emphasized Mátyás Szilágyi, Consul General of the Beregszász Consulate of Hungary, in his speech. He called Mezőkaszony a privileged settlement, which has many ties to the two greatest kings of Hungarian history, Szent István and Szent László.
- "We are now commemorating a person who belonged to everyone, not just Hungarians. Saint István's country did not only belong to the denominations, but to all the people living there who respected him," Orosz Ildikó county representative, II. Ferenc Rákóczi is the President of Subcarpathian Hungarian College and the NGO Pro Cultura Subcarpathica. - "Here in Europe, in the Christian world, we were able to survive because St. Stephen made the country Christian and thanks to that, we were accepted and accepted, so we could build and continue to build for a thousand years."
