On August 26, 1944, the horn of the Székely border guard battalion in Sepsiszentgyörgy was found and hidden by a messenger from the city during retreat. The man sought the hiding place in 1965 after being a Soviet prisoner of war. Since then, he and his family hid the instrument in the attic of his house, which his grandson gave to Sándor Tamás, the president of the Kovászna county municipality, in 2019, in the heat of the conflict surrounding the Úzvölgy military cemetery.

Since then, the horn has decorated the office of Sándor Tamás. At Thursday's commemoration, the history of the horn was explained by Sándor Birtalan, the mayor of Csíkszentmárton, and the instrument was played by the András Rétyi Kováts Wind Orchestra.

According to Székelyhon, among the hundreds of participants in Thursday's commemoration was 97-year-old Mihály Bartha, who lived through the 1944 invasion as a soldier serving in Úzvölgyen.

Balázs Fürjes, State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, emphasized in his speech that the nations of Central and Eastern Europe can only succeed together in the 21st century.

"If we can cooperate, if we have mutual respect and recognition for each other, if we are truly equal partners, both Hungary and Romania can achieve great joint successes together with other nations of Central and Eastern Europe," stated the state secretary. He added: at the same time, peaceful and good-will cooperation cannot require self-surrender.

We have to accept that there are events in our history that we will always look at differently, that we will always judge differently. In this spirit, we must always say that Trianon is a tragic loss for us. The cause of Hungarians in Székelyföld will always be close to Hungary's heart. We have the right to do so, and no one can take that away from us," stated the state secretary.

Csaba Borboly, the president of the Hargita county municipality, stated in his speech that he is not aware of any institution in Romania that would have given a positive opinion that the municipality of Darmanesti had arbitrarily created a Romanian plot in the cemetery.

The politician expressed his hope that the legal battle of Csíkszentmárton will result in the cemetery being restored to its old form.
