Based on the results of the national consultation, decisions will be made that will be of great and tangible help to millions of people. The government has already prepared these decisions and will make them soon - said the parliamentary state secretary of the Prime Minister's Cabinet Office in Kossuth Rádió's Sunday Newspaper program.

Csaba Dömötör said: the government policy based on reducing taxes and supporting families has strong support based on the results of the national consultation. There is a consensus that life will not return to normal after the coronavirus epidemic, so jobs must be protected, families supported, and security maintained at the same time. In addition, it must be ensured that the most important decisions about the future of the country are "made by us, not by others".

The consultation also confirmed that all generations and social groups should benefit from economic growth after the epidemic, he added.

He added: firstly, the announcement of the loan moratorium is expected, and although the banks do not want it to be extended, the government is guided by the results of the consultation.

The state secretary also reported that the social support for the SJA refund for parents raising children also has social support , so all that remains is to achieve the 5.5 percent economic growth, which will be achieved based on the current data. On average, the tax refund can mean hundreds of thousands of forints in extra money for parents, he added.

He emphasized: 98 percent also agree that family allowances and taxes on work should be constitutionally protected. According to Csaba Dömötör, this is because the people experienced that the previous governments first reached out to family allowances and pensions during the crisis. On the other hand, the current government came out of the economic difficulties by not taking austerity measures and, in addition, the previous level of employment remained, and even set a new record, he emphasized.

He said: there is overwhelming agreement that the minimum wage should be raised to HUF 200,000. If this were to be implemented, the amount of the minimum wage would increase three times under the current government and it would have a stimulating effect on other wage bands as well, he added.

Csaba Dömötör also touched on the fact that the government does not want political activist groups to have a say in how Hungarians raise their children. Only the Hungarian parents have the right to decide this , he stated, adding: the European Union does not have the authority to do so, yet they confuse this matter with, for example, the issue of EU funds due to Hungary.

The state secretary expressed his pleasure that the consultation confirmed the government's position on this issue as well, but, as he said, a referendum will be held on it in the future.

The national consultation questionnaire was completed by 1,423,000 people.
