Europe as a topic does not even appear in the debate of the chancellor candidates - said Leslie Mandoki in an interview with Origo on Tuesday.

The musician was quite surprised by this, because as he put it: "the European community is not in as good a state as it should be, there are many open questions". At the same time, he added: the issue of education was not included among the topics, which he thinks is perhaps an even bigger problem.

Germany is struggling with economic problems. During the interview, Mandoki also touched on the following: in his opinion, a married couple living on rent in Germany cannot buy an apartment in Munich or Hamburg where they can raise two or three children, because everything is so expensive."

The musician also added: moreover, a thirty-year-old married couple cannot plan ahead economically even for a longer period of time, even 30 years. As he put it, he thinks there are several reasons for this, including, for example, the fact that inflation in the German economy is approaching five percent, while the interest rate is zero. According to him, the Germans should return to the social market economy.

In response to a question, the world-famous producer also said that he thinks that if Armin Laschet becomes the chancellor, we will be facing a very positive phase in the relationship between Hungary and Germany".

The musician added that Laschet "respects our country very much and considers it one of his most important tasks to bring the European community together again". As he put it: "Laschet is a true European, he knows how important Hungary is to Germany, and Germany to Hungary."

Speaking about the other two potential chancellor candidates, Mandoki highlighted Annalena Baerbock's academic shortcomings and the "actions on the account" of Olaf Scholz. As he put it, in his opinion "Olaf Sholz is just a Trojan horse who is not followed by his own party" either. At the same time, Leslie Mandoki said: he believes that Armin Laschet will be the new German chancellor.
