Merkel warned Brussels: It would be better to talk to Hungary, not withdraw resources. Angela Merkel defends Hungary from the European Commission with her last words.

Outgoing German Chancellor Angela Merkel warned the European Commission to be cautious before the body withdraws EU funds from Poland and Hungary, reports Index based on Politico.

As is known, the European Commission is considering suspending the payment of certain EU funds to the two countries due to continued violations of the rule of law criteria. For the time being, the board refrains from using radical tools, however, many activists and members of the European Parliament demand stricter action, the momentous Katalin Česk said directly that they will sue the Commission if it does not apply the rule of law mechanism.

Angela Merkel reacted to this threat as follows:

I think it is a bit frustrating, if I may put it that way, when Parliament says it is suing the Commission. I don't think it's going anywhere.”

He also added: "I think now is the time to talk in depth with the Polish government about how we can overcome the difficulties. We have serious problems, but I advise that we resolve them through consultation, to find compromises."

2022plus: This is very nice and good, but it would have been much better if Merkel spoke in such a tone that was pleasing to our ears and soul, when there was someone. Then maybe the hateful globalists would have listened to him...
