It's been 32 years since the Berlin Wall came down, and with that we have reached the end of the communist occupation of Europe - István Hollik, Fidesz's communications director, writes in his Facebook post.

"Only those who did not live under Soviet oppression cannot understand the crimes of communism. It is important to remember that for decades we could not be our own masters, just like East Berliners, we were victims of hundreds of political trials and the brutality of state violence organizations. We lived well with the freedom we regained during the regime change, and in the past 11 years we can once again be proud of ourselves, of Hungary. Therefore, the fall of the wall is an important symbol of freedom.”
