It also exceeded four thousand, breaking the monthly record for the number of migrants illegally crossing the English Channel in the United Kingdom on Friday, even though there are still nine days left until the end of November.

Following the new peak, the former head of the British Immigration Service warned in an interview on Times Radio that migrants "know they will hit the jackpot" if they manage to arrive in the UK, the Daily Mail reported .

Kevin Saunders says Britain is "very attractive" to illegal immigrants because they "know they're not going to be deported" once they enter the country.

"Migrants know they will not be deported, so they destroy all their documents

he said.

He added: this is a cause for serious concern, because in this way they do not know exactly who is arriving in the country and from where, since illegal immigrants even lie about their own names.

" The biggest attraction is that these people know that everything is free in the UK: education, medical care, benefits, housing, it's all very, very tempting for them," explained the former chief immigration officer.

According to Saunders, the most effective way would be to take all migrants arriving in the UK to a camp outside the country and deal with their situation there.

This is the only way to stop migrants coming into the UK. We have seen that the French are trying to stop them on land and in the English Channel, but nothing is working, " he underlined.

When asked why the migrant camp had to be outside the country, he replied that illegal immigrants will continue to come to the UK because they know they cannot deport them en masse if their asylum applications fail.

This year, more than 24,000 migrants have reached their destination in the United Kingdom. This number is almost three times that of arrivals in 2020.

Boris Johnson has ordered a full review into the migrant crisis. The prime minister is said to be "frustrated" by his government's failure to reduce the number of migrants arriving by boat and wants ministers to "redouble" efforts to tackle the crisis.

France is accused

Earlier this week, the British leadership expressed its indignation that France is unable to handle the migrant crisis, the Daily Mail reported, citing inside sources.

" Hundreds of people were left to sail to their deaths while only a few ships were stopped. It seems that they have ceded sovereign territory to criminal people smugglers, ”said an inside source of the British medium.

The UK's most senior politicians are reportedly accusing President Emmanuel Macron and France of failing in their duty to protect life.

Insiders have also revealed that the British ministry is threatening to withdraw £54 million in aid to France. This amount has so far been provided to the French to increase the number of patrols and stop the "armada" of migrants leaving their shores.

At the beginning of the week, Emmanuel Macron's answer was also received. The President of the French Republic criticized the British Home Secretary, Priti Patel, for previously placing responsibility for handling the migrant crisis on them in the press.

" Here are the British who vacillate between partnership and provocation... we need to step up cooperation, " Macron said.

The president, who did not give specific examples of the alleged British provocations, also promised that he would use Paris' consecutive presidency of the EU to step up work investigating the origins of the migrant crisis.

The terrorist threat is high

It is no coincidence that they are so worried in Great Britain, since exactly one week ago, on Sunday last week, a terrorist attack hit the country.

The explosion took place on Sunday morning in the parking lot of the Liverpool gynecological clinic, in a taxi, whose passenger - the perpetrator - died on the spot. The taxi driver managed to escape from the car in time and, although he was injured, he was able to return home from the hospital.

Since then, the British authorities have classified the incident as an act of terrorism. The fact that a greater tragedy did not occur is thanks to a heroic taxi driver who saved the lives of dozens of people when he locked the bomb-equipped suicide bomber in his car. The taxi driver managed to escape, but was only slightly injured.

The taxi driver, David Perry, told police that his passenger had originally asked to be taken to Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral, half a mile from the hospital, where an event was being held to commemorate England's national heroes.

Since then, it has been revealed that the assassin came from the Middle East a few years ago. Emad al-Swealmeen changed his name to Enzo Almeni when he applied for asylum in the UK to "sound more Western", the DailyMail reported.

Almeri's origins are disputed, he claimed to be of Syrian and Iraqi descent, but according to security sources he actually came from Jordan. He has reportedly been in dispute with the Home Office for years regarding his application for residency status.

According to the newspaper, the suicide bomber built a "mother of Satan" ball-bearing bomb used by the extremist Islamic State (ISIS) to "maximize carnage".

Al-Swealmeen made the bomb at home. This unstable, high-powered explosive called TATP was used by Islamist terrorists in the 2015 Paris suicide attack, as well as at the 2017 Manchester concert.

Al-Swealmeen's asylum application for possessing a knife was rejected in 2014, and he was kept in solitary confinement for several months.

A few years later, the man was taken in by a Christian couple for eight months. In the spring of 2017, Al-Swealmeen was baptized in the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and then moved in with the Hitchcott couple. She moved out in November, saying she wanted her own apartment.

“After she left, we barely kept in touch,” the husband said. He also added that his wife met him once, at which time he told her that he had enrolled in a cake decorating course, and he seemed in a good mood. The couple recognized the man as quiet.

Malcolm Hitchcott was completely shocked when he found out what had happened, that the man he had taken in was behind the assassination. "There was nothing to suggest he was radicalised," he told the Daily Mail.

According to press reports, al-Swealmeen wanted to attack the Liverpool cathedral where he had been baptized on Sunday. 1,200 soldiers, veterans and relatives gathered for Remembrance Day, but due to traffic and road closures, they were unable to reach the cathedral. He diverted the taxi towards the city, but when he saw the hospital, he suddenly changed his mind and wanted to go there. The driver noticed his strange behavior, so he locked the man in the taxi, who blew himself up in the hospital parking lot. The assailant died on the spot, the taxi driver escaped with minor injuries.

Investigators and MI5 are still investigating the motive for the bombing, but taking all the circumstances into account, the service classified the incident as an act of terrorism.

The authorities interrogated the three men detained on Sunday night and the 20-year-old man detained on Monday in connection with the explosion and then released them.

the police said.

The investigation revealed that al-Swealmeen had rented a place on Rutland Avenue and called a taxi there on the day of the bombing. The scene investigators searched the place, the neighboring houses were evacuated as a precaution.

“Al-Swealmeen is also linked to the Rutland Avenue and Sutcliffe Street addresses, the search is ongoing. We believe he lived at the latter address for a time, having recently rented the address on Rutland Avenue. At this address we found items significant to the investigation," said Detective Andrew Meeks.

Deputy Chief of Police Russ Jackson informed that the investigation is proceeding at a fast pace , and the investigative teams are working at night. "We have made significant progress since Sunday, understanding the components of the explosive device, where they were obtained and how they were assembled. At the address on Rutland Avenue, we found significant evidence that has become a central part of the investigation," he added.

After the bombing, the British government raised the level of anti-terror preparedness to a higher level on Monday evening. According to this, another terrorist attack in the country is highly likely.
