The number of people who have recovered is constantly increasing, currently 948,385 people, and the number of active infected people is 184,295 people. 7,206 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital, 607 of them are on ventilators. A total of 1,212,000 people have already been vaccinated in the Vaccination Campaign, of which 990,000 have already taken the third booster vaccination and 142,000 people who have not been vaccinated have decided to take their first vaccination. In view of the success, the government has extended the Vaccination campaign by another week, so until Sunday, December 12, you can still go to the vaccination points between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., even without making an appointment in advance.

It is recommended for everyone who received the previous vaccination more than 4 months ago to receive the third booster vaccination. With the booster vaccination, protection can be increased to 80-90% again.

Until Sunday, December 12, the hospitals are waiting for those arriving with increased vaccination capacity either for the first, the missed second, or the confirmatory third vaccination. Unvaccinated people can come to the vaccination point without prior registration, in which case they will be registered on the spot. Those who arrive without an appointment will be vaccinated in order of arrival. Those who registered in advance and booked an appointment online can avoid waiting.

Last Thursday, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) approved the vaccination of 5-11-year-olds with the Pfizer vaccine. The vaccination work group has started preparing for the vaccination of the children, the necessary vaccines are expected to arrive on December 13. Children are scheduled to be vaccinated at hospital vaccination points designated for children's vaccinations and, if needed, at family pediatricians. We will inform you about the details today.

In addition to healthcare facilities and public transport, masks must again be worn in shops, shopping centres, post offices, customer services, theatres, cinemas, museums and sporting events. At indoor cultural and other events, gyms, swimming pools, spas, and catering establishments, the use of masks is mandatory for those working there. In nurseries, kindergartens and schools, principals and rectors in higher education institutions, and employers in other workplaces can determine the rules for wearing masks. In order to increase vaccination coverage, employers can require their employees to be vaccinated. Vaccination is expected in the public sector, in municipalities the mayors can decide on the issue. Companies that require their employees to be vaccinated can also request a vaccine from the county vaccination workgroups, in which case the company doctors can also carry out the vaccination.
