Next year, Pilisi Parkerdő will implement significant improvements that support active recreation with more than HUF 3 billion. These will improve the cycling infrastructure in the forest, add new elements to the Nagyvillam ski track, and create additional parking spaces at popular hiking spots. In their statement sent to MTI, they remind that
several developments have already been implemented, for example the Prédikálószéki lookout, the Fekete-hegy key house, and the renovation of the Hidegvölgyi four-season rest area.
The reconstruction works will continue next year, with the support of the Active and Ecotourism Development Center (AÖFK), the active tourism offer of Pilis and the Visegrád Mountains will be expanded with additional tourist services and infrastructure development.
The combined licensing and implementation plans for the renovation of the 62.6 kilometer long forest road suitable for cycling have already been completed. The public procurement procedure for the selection of the contractor is expected to be announced later this year. In the existing 9 parking spaces, the number of spaces will be increased for those arriving by car and bus. In addition, the infrastructure of the parking lots is being improved. The Nagyvillam ski slope near Visegrád is also developing, the design plans for the more than 300 square meter, high-quality, four-season reception building have been completed. The track will have two new cable-operated lifts.
The projects are expected to be completed by the end of next year, the total value of the investments exceeds HUF 3 billion. Part of the investment is the Mogyoróhegy Ecotourism Center, which includes a thematic playground and a wildlife exhibition garden, the construction of which is expected to begin in the spring of 2022, they wrote. More than 30 million visitors visit the forests managed by Pilisi Parkerdő every year.
