- Every Hungarian political force has an elementary duty to support political forces organized on a national basis in neighboring countries - Zsolt Németh, the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament, told Magyar Nemzet that since the change of regime, we have experienced very distant positions on the border regarding the Hungarians from Túli, but trusts that over time a consensus will emerge on the question of the right to vote. The politician from the ruling party also expressed his expectations for next year's elections: he expects a tough tone in the campaign and considers foreign intervention attempts to be conceivable.

– We will soon turn to the campaign for the 2022 parliamentary election. What do you expect in the coming months?

- I think a tone will emerge in Hungarian politics that we have not experienced during previous election campaigns. Unfortunately, the coarsening of the tone of politics has been evident in the Hungarian Parliament in recent months, and it is feared that this will not be avoided in the election campaign either. At the same time, the most important question regarding the election chances is what the real processes are like in Hungary. I see it as crucial that the Hungarian economy is performing well, which means a lot of room for maneuver in terms of various social policy objectives. Let me emphasize the increase in benefits for pensioners, young people, and various professional and professional organizations, as well as the measures adopted in family policy. None of these could be realized if Hungary could not show a six percent economic growth.

– Do you think it is possible for foreign influence to appear in the campaign?

– Yes, I expect that various intervention attempts will take place in the coming months, and our most important task in this regard is to be able to calmly but firmly separate the response to intervention intentions that appear in each situation from our fundamental interests that exist and must be followed in the given situation.

– As the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament, how do you see the situation of Hungarians living abroad and their role in domestic political processes?

– I am confident that Hungarians living abroad will actively participate in the parliamentary elections, since the Hungarian Parliament is now a national assembly. One million of our compatriots from the Carpathian Basin can exercise their right to vote, so it is crucial that they register and meet the various deadlines, so they can avoid casting an invalid vote. We can deal with this problem by drawing the attention of Hungarians living abroad to use the help of cooperating and supporting organizations in carrying out various administrative tasks.
