The renewed M5 channel's credo is to bring all areas of science, the best of Hungarian culture, and the idea of ​​lifelong learning closer to the viewer, and it also offers useful knowledge for our everyday lives, Dobos Menyhért, CEO of Duna Médiaszolgáltató, told Magyar Nemzet, who was interviewed  on January 3 The newspaper asked about the new TV channel with a new image and program structure.

" In general, our goal with the renewed programs and the M5 channel itself is to become one of the symbols of modern Hungarian public service in the future, which ensures equal opportunities, i.e. the possibility of access to our cultural public treasures. At the same time, it fulfills a cultural mission that will be useful to the viewers, serves to represent the universal Hungarian and European culture, and at the same time provides an entertaining opportunity for further learning, development and culture in our personal lives," said the CEO .

János Bán , M5's channel director, told the newspaper: cultural consumption habits are constantly changing, at an ever-increasing pace, but M5's mission is not to constantly follow these changes as fashion waves.

" M5 plays an important role in providing value-based programs to our viewers who do not want to forget where we came from and where we are going on the accelerated, globalized information superhighway, " explained the channel director.

Among the new programs, he singled out, among others, the weekly historical magazine M5 História, the series Magyar nők, which commemorates outstanding female figures of the Hungarian past, and the magazine Kunszt, which presents current events in the Hungarian visual arts.

He also indicated that they have strengthened their film offering, starting January 6th they will launch a new selection of films, first with a selection that shows the high quality and colorfulness with which Polish cinema deals with outstanding events in Polish history. In addition, an excellent selection of recent French films and a series presenting successful award-winning works will also be launched, the channel director told Magyar Nemzet.
