Recently, a new battlefield of concerted attacks against Hungary's sovereignty has opened up, when, in addition to the usual European Union legal procedures, political condemnations and withholding of resources, a cultural frontline has also emerged.

Opponents entering the soccer field with rainbow armbands, lobbying against the Child Protection Act, increasing foreign media influence and intelligence disguised as "investigations". Traditional values, national identity, the meaning of family and public trust are attacked in order to undermine the state through them. The attack on Hungary's cultural sovereignty takes place along a strategy that is located in the theoretical framework of the hybrid war, and its practice is carried out with cultural and communication tools.

Márton Békés, the XXI. The year-opening analysis of the director of the Század Institute...presents the battlefield where the latest international attacks against Hungary are taking place...

... József Horváth ny. Major General, Deputy Director-General for Operations of the National Security Office between 1998-2002, then Deputy Director-General of the Military National Security Service in 2012-13, currently a security policy advisor to the Center for Fundamental Rights, he writes about the new generation of hybrid warfare in his recent book Hybrid War for the Future, in which the war goal of our continent is "the eradication of the Jewish-Christian roots, the dissolution of its nations" . In order to do this, seemingly far-fetched solutions are deployed, as he writes: "The liquidation of European nations, the launching of millions of illegal immigrants, the violent spread of radical Islam and the active influence of young generations basically stem from the same root."

He also points out that the attacking party is difficult to identify, as they include both state intelligence services, allied with them, "non-governmental structures that can be interpreted as front companies" that "appear to the public as a legal protection, humanitarian or professional advocacy organization" and deployed agents or locally found organizations willing to collaborate, mostly calling themselves "civil society", "independent media" and "investigative journalists". This is precisely why the work of prevention has become more difficult, warns József Horváth, since the task is not only to eliminate external interference, but also to pacify the internal front, where exposure and exoneration are particularly difficult. Especially since the invasion has already taken place, the dismantling is underway (Amnesty, Helsinki Committee, TASZ, Transparency), and the next step, i.e. the occupation, is now being prepared with home-grown actors...

..It follows from all this that a cultural front line, broadly understood and divided in depth, was created. Through this, the cultural sovereignty of Hungary - that is, the cultural unity of the state and the cultural uniqueness of its creators - is in the crossfire of all kinds of attacks. The goal of the offensive is to destabilize the state, namely in a long-lasting but unnoticed way: with means of communication, legal means, with the help of an international media offensive, with the increasing influence of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), with an unrelenting attack on national identity and the traditional concept of the family. However, if the state's cultural sovereignty is reduced, then all the superstructure – social order, economic system, political stability – that is built on this foundation will be lost. By aggressively attacking Hungary's cultural sovereignty in recent years, they spectacularly laid the ax on the roots of the Hungarian state...

...Cultural loosening directed against the security of the state - carried out in a hybrid way, using indirect means - is part of destabilization. This is what we normally call undermining the state. Regarding one aspect of this, József Horváth writes that " it is worth considering the activity of the gender lobby as a well-structured, consciously implemented influence operation, the real goal of which is to disrupt the basic units of the Jewish-Christian cultural circle" . Such as the family, the established framework of male-female cohabitation and the laws of descent. All things considered, part of the hybrid operation aimed at social disintegration is 1) weakening national identity, 2) changing the demographic composition, 3) transforming the concept of family and 4) making gender fluid.

In such a situation, the state can resort to the means of constitutional protection, as a part of which many provisions of the Basic Law were created, such as the recognition of the role of Christianity in preserving the nation, the definition of national identity, responsibility for Hungarians living beyond the border (National Creed), as well as the protection of the institution of marriage and the provision that "the mother is a woman, the father is a man" (Foundation, Article L, 1). In addition, it is also possible to live with political means, which requires sufficient social empowerment.

This is what the child protection referendum held at the same time as the 2022 parliamentary elections will be about...

...Preserving and protecting the cultural unity of the state and the cultural uniqueness of its inhabitants is by definition a state task, which has a serious impact on national security. The attack on state sovereignty through the broadly understood culture - that is, the targeting of cultural sovereignty - most seriously raises the issue of state self-defense, which must be answered in the most decisive way from a cultural, infrastructural, but also military and defense point of view. Preferably preventively.
